Featured CTM: Kerry

Hallo everyone! 

Welcome to Featured Creative Team Member! :) For this first 'edition', we are going to talk to Kerry who has been with Nerdy Scrappers Studio since the beginning, and has rocked Nerdy Scrappers Studio's kits every time! Enjoy getting to know her! :)

Hi! Please introduce yourself a bit. 

     I am Kerry, known in digiland as Scrpncrzy.  I am a full time Medical Technologist at a suburban trauma center in the suburbs ofKansas City, Kansas.  I love my very non-creative job, but need scrapbooking as a creative relase.  I am married to my high school love.  (We have been together nearly 21 years.)  Holey moley, that makes me feel really old since we are only 37.  We don't have any kidlets, but have tons of family and friends that would gladly loan us one if necessary.  We love to travel, but don't do it nearly enough.

How & when did you get into scrapbooking?     
       I have always collected memories in shoe boxes and memory books, so scrapbooking just evolved.  I started out a paper scrapper when we first moved to Kansas, away from all our families to record our memories of the new adventure.  That was nearly 13 years ago ... I worked at Archivers for a few years, and then was introduced to digi by a Jessica Sprague class.  Hooked and loved it immediately.  I never looked at paper after that first class.

What inspires your Los? How would you describe your style?    
       Life and the beauty of nature inspires my layouts.  I would say I think I am a shabby scrapper, but sometimes have bouts of linearity and clean lines.  It really varies depending upon my mood and the theme I am scrapping.

Do you have favorite colors you like to use in your Los?     
        Purple ... You will find some hint of purple in everything I do. It is my favorite color, but I have been trying to push myself to usevarious color combinations and different pattern mixtures together lately.

In regards to scrapping, what do you excel at and what would you like to improve?     
        I don't feel like I "excel" at any one aspect.  I love the creative process and just keep learning.  I think there is always something new to discover and learn while creating art.  I need to work on my shadow realism, but that is one that seems to change overtime and is different with each version of PSE I buy

What tip/trick/advise would you give to a scrapper just starting out?   
         Never be afraid.  If someone doesn't like your style, then they just don't.  If you  love what you are creating then that is all that matters.  It is the journey not the end product that you must treasure.
  
Tell us 3 random/funny facts about yourself     
          I have a farting stuffed hippo animal and slippers of the same animal. 
          I love frogs but am afraid to hold a real one. 
          I wear something purple every day.

Do you have a scrapbooking workspace? Can you show us?   
         I had a paper scrapbook station/area. But with digi I find myself camped out on the couch often times.  I love that about digi.  I can run to the coffee shop and scrap there or really anywhere.
